For the last World Cup we had Paul The Octopus, the eight tentacled tipster, but this time round we have some new pooch pundits to make predicions about who will lift the trophy, thanks to K9 Crusaders in Bissoe.

The barking new team of commentators led by canine critic, Boxer 'The Guvnor' George, will be leaving their kennels to guide you through the finer points of the World Cup, and sniff out predictions for selected games on a daily basis.

The Bissoe based dog welfare charity has selected an array of talent for the pooch pundits: Jack Russell 'Jinky' Jess, Ambull 'Chopper' Ross, Staffie 'Bomber' Bruno, Lurcher 'King Of The Wing' Wesley.

The dogs will snif out winners by chosing from dishes of food with the different flags of the teams taking part in the matches.

Each loyal animal has a nose for the win, and George is quoted as saying: "Rooney’s ‘ruff’ and raring to go and it’s a while since Hart’s had a ‘howler’.

If the 'waggs' stay at home and the boys don't get 'dog tired' in the heat, we can 'sniff' out a spot in the final"
