A huge search and rescue operation was launched last night after a elderly man went missing from a West Cornwall holiday park, only for him to be found in a hotel 23 miles away, as far as his mobility scooter would take him.
Both Sennen lifeboats, the police helicopter and Coastguard teams were called out to scour the coastline after the man in his seventies was reported missing on Thursday evening.
He had been staying at a holiday park in Sennen, Cornwall.
Following reports that mobility scooter was seen travelling erratically on the A30, he was found in a Camborne hotel, thought to be as far away from Sennen as his scooter would travel on a single charge.
