Falmouth's RNLI were called last night to a report of a man in trouble off Durgan beach on the Helford River.

Following a call from a member of the public at around 10.30pm on Thursday, June 12, the inshore lifeboat was sent to search the area while team members from Falmouth Coastguard were also sent to Durgan Village.

A spokesperson for the coastguard said: "The inshore lifeboat was in contact with a yacht believed to have recovered the person to safety, so they proceeded just up stream of Trebah.

"The inshore lifeboat put two crew aboard and quickly established that all was OK and all units were stood down to return to base."
