Ongoing improvements at Mullion Gymnastics Centre are continuing with the planned development of changing facilities.

However, contrary to an incorrect headline in last week’s Helston Packet, the gym itself is not being demolished and the paper would like to apologise for any confusion this may have caused.

Instead it is an old farm building attached to the gymnasium that it is hoped will be knocked down and replaced with four small ‘cottage style’ properties.

A planning application states that these would be made up of three homes, with the fourth containing a meeting room, toilets and changing rooms for the club.

A spokesperson said: “Mullion Gymnastics Centre is a thriving gym offering parent and toddler sessions, recreational gymnastics, development gymnastics, competition squad gymnastics and parkour for all age groups.”

The gym is now offering new Saturday block sessions between 10am and noon and is also available for parties and private hire.

The club has received various grants to completely refurbish the original gym, making it one of the most state of the art in south west Cornwall.

“Any new planning applications will be with a view to complementing the current facilities,” added the spokesperson. For details of current sessions and forthcoming events call 01326 241377. |A promotional video can be seen on the Mullion Gymnastics website homepage.
