A steam traction engine travelling on the A389, Bodmin to Lanivet road has been blamed for multiple hedge fires on Friday afternoon.
A fire service spokesman said that multiple repeat calls were recieved to several areas of hedgerow on fire on the road from Bodmin to Lanivet on Friday afternoon.
Adding: "Its believed that a steam traction engine which was travelling down the road at the time had caused the fires as a result of hot embers coming from its fire box.
"Six firefighters from Bodmin attended the scene and reported that there were many seats of fire over a 300 metre stretch of low hedge and grass."
The fires were extinguished using beaters and two hose reel jets.
