Torches at this year’s Porthleven Torchlight Procession will be paid for by the town council.
The event was reignited last year by the Porthleven Community Group, following a gap of a couple of years when organiser Ann Minors was unable to continue.
Councillors agreed to pay £200 for the torches, meaning that money from the sales on the night goes back into the community.
The event takes place at dusk on August Bank Holiday, which this year is August 25
