Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Liskeard which left a man with a broken cheekbone.

The alleged attack happened around 2.15am on Sunday 8 June when the victim was walking home with a friend after a night out.

In Pound Street they were approached by three men and an argument broke out; one offender hit the victim over the back of the head and he fell to the ground.

When he got back up again the offender hit him across the face and he was knocked to the ground for a second time.

The 23-year-old from Liskeard sustained a broken cheekbone which required hospital treatment.

Police are asking the public for information about the offence and seeking the three suspects.

The main offender is described as white, aged 19 to 25, around 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins tall with slim build and a slim face. He had short dark brown hair and was wearing a dark top and jeans.
