The Cornwall Hotel in St Austell has gone on the market, with an asking price of £7.5million.

The hotel and spa, set in 43 acres of park and woodland, also has planning permission for 36 holiday lodges.

Specialist property adviser Christie + Co are handling the sale of the hotel.

The Cornwall Estate which has its origins in the Anglo-Saxon period and in the early 19th century the estate was acquired by the Coode family. The house which is now the Cornwall Hotel was built for the successful St Austell banker in 1834.

Today, the Cornwall Hotel provides 4-Star accommodation across 65 guest bedrooms — nine of which are situated in the Grade II listed Manor House, with 56 located in the adjoining Woodland Rooms that was constructed in 2008 and 2009.

The hotel also has an AA Rosette-endorsed fine dining restaurant called Arboretum and brasserie restaurants, along with bars and terraced areas.
