Razors and blades worth nearly £200 were among the items a Carnon Downs man stole when he committed three shoplifting offences in Falmouth.

Daniel Catlow, aged 30, of Carnon Crescent, pleaded guilty at Truro Magistrates’ Court to the offences involving goods together worth £208.21.

Alison May, for the CPS, said when interviewed by the police he said he could not remember doing it, but did not dispute it when they showed him CCTV footage. He had previous convictions for similar offences.

Deborah Von Kohler, his solicitor, said he had an alcohol problem. “It is not a lifestyle choice, it is an illness he suffers from, and he has struggled to sort it out,” she said.

Catlow was sent to prison for 12 weeks.
