A beach near Helston became a TV set today when filming for a new television adaption of Poldark moved to Gunwalloe.
Cast and crew involved in the remake of the iconic 1970s drama series were seen filming scenes at Church Cove, including what is believed to have been Aidan Turner who plays Ross Poldark.
A large number of extras could be seen walking up and down the beach, with crab pots and barrels.
Nearby Dollar Cove was used as a holding place for many of the props.
The filming also meant an unexpected beach clean. Runners from the production company could be seen picking litter up off the sand before filming could begin, in order to maintain the realism of a beach in the 18th century.
Based on the Winston Graham novels, the original BBC adaptation of the first four books of the Poldark saga were broadcast during 1975 and 1976.
Filming for that series included eight weeks on location in Cornwall. The second series, based on the next three Winston Graham books, was broadcast in the UK in the autumn of 1977. The series in total ran to 29 episodes. The new series is due to air on BBC One next year.
