Twins compete for the top salesman spot at Cornish car dealership

Falmouth Packet: Twins compete for the top salesman spot at Cornish car dealership Twins compete for the top salesman spot at Cornish car dealership

Identical twins Luke and Ben Hart have shown they have plenty of drive as they compete to see who can sell the most cars at top Cornish dealership Dales.

Luke - the younger by 14 minutes - is making a name for himself selling SEATs at the family-run company's site at Summercourt, near Newquay, while brother Ben is a senior sales executive at Dales Scorrier, near Redruth.

And like many identical twins the 22-year-olds lead lives which are in part a ‘mirror image' of each other.

Both play centre back for local football team Illogan FC, both name the same well known lager as their favourite tipple and both were previously sales executives at the same leading high street retailer.

Luke, who joined Dales SEAT Summercourt five months ago following three years spent with another car dealership, said: "I really enjoy meeting different people in my job. I think it's probably the closest you can get to being self-employed. Like a lot of twins we are extremely competitive and I probably wouldn't have gone into car sales unless Ben had."

Ben, who joined Dales five years ago, has previously sold SEATs but is now selling Renaults at Dales Scorrier.

"Luke and I generate a lot of business between us, and we do cause confusion sometimes such as when we share a stand at the Royal Cornwall Show," said Ben.

"As twins we've always done everything together and we compete to see who sells the most cars. It works best for us that we are based at different dealerships otherwise customers would be getting us muddled up."
