After a year of hard work and the pressure of exams, the year 11 students of Falmouth School had the chance to glam it up and dance the night away at their prom.

It wasn’t only the teenagers’ attire that was impressive, but also the choice of vehicles which delivered them to the Penventon Hotel in Redruth – the most unusual being an old style double decker bus.

The students tucked into a three course meal before taking to the dance floor as they celebrated their graduation from KS4 and the next step on their road to further education.

Alex George, deputy headteacher, said: “The students all looked really fabulous and behaved impeccably - they were a credit to the school. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”

Sarah Gould, head of year 11 progress, added: “They have been a fantastic year group who have remained focused and hard working throughout the exams, a time which is extremely stressful.

“Many of the students are returning to our sixth form college in September, which is brilliant as it has been a pleasure working with them. It was nice to be able to see them relax and enjoy all their good efforts.”
