Porthleven fun day raises air ambulance funds

First published in News

Organisers of a charity fun day in Porthleven are flying high after raising just under £2,000 for the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.

Naomi Belert and Annette Shaw organised the all-day event as part of ongoing fundraising towards the main challenge: a trek to Machu Picchu in Peru at the end of the year, also for the air ambulance.

Saturday took the form of two parts – the first a family event at the Harbour Head, where there were stalls set up and a bouncy castle for children.

Then, that evening, the action moved indoors to the Atlantic Inn, where more activities took place including an auction.

There was a wide range of lots that bidders were eager to snap up – including VIP tickets to Alan Carr Chatty Man show.

Naomi and Annette said they were very grateful for the support they received, from those who helped organise and run the day, local businesses who donated prizes and everyone who came along on the day.

This is brilliant news, I went to this in the morning, and was wondering how much they would raise in total.

I am afraid I could not be in two places at the same time, so I prioritised.

Well I suggest you are in the minority then, because I have, and so have many others.

Gill is right, I have seen him do something for charity too. I think you're probably in the local minority of 1 if you have never seen.

Good luck with the on going fundraising for the air ambulance, no one ever knows when they might just need the services of it.
