The Falmouth and District Allotments and Gardens Society is holding its annual flower and produce show at the Emmanuel Baptist Church on Saturday, July 26.

Previous shows have attracted a bumper number of entries and the society is hoping this year’s show will be no exception. New classes have been introduced and there are a number of new trophies, including the Show Champion Cup for the person who scores the highest number of points across the show.

The society’s chairman, Robin Waddling, hopes members will not be hesitant or shy about entering their produce. “It doesn’t have to be the biggest, the heaviest or the most beautiful”, he says.

There are a variety of classes including vegetables, fruit, novelty vegetables, cut flowers, pot plants and domestic, along with special sections for novice and junior entrants.

The show will open to the public free of charge from 2pm and the prize giving will take place at 3pm.

This will be followed at 3.30pm by an auction of show produce. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and home-made cakes will be on sale throughout the afternoon.
