Do you fish for sport or a hobby in Cornwall? Do you want to have a say in how the inshore waters around Cornwall are managed? Cornwall Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authorityis holding a public meeting to discuss the development of a 'recreational sea angling strategy for Cornwall.

Cornwall IFCA says it is looking to, "involve as many voices in the formation of its strategy as possible", and is asking anyone who wants to find out more about how Cornwall IFCA manages the fisheries to go along to an open meeting.

Sam Davis, principal scientific officer at Cornwall IFCA, said: "This is the first sector specific strategy Cornwall IFCA has produced and as such represents a major step in recognising the value and importance of the recreational sector in the Cornish fisheries. This is your opportunity to become involved in this process from the start.

“Recreational angling represents an important and vibrant part of the overall picture of fishing in Cornwall. The Recreational Sea Angling strategy represents a golden opportunity for anglers themselves to take an active role in developing how this sector could be managed”.

All are welcome to the public meeting and there is no need to book a place, however if you would like any further information please contact Cornwall IFCA on 01736 338842 or e-mail enquiries@cornwall.gov.uk..
