The sun seemed to have become a little tired last Wednesday, but there was plenty of energy at Flushing Primary School’s Sports Day as the children took part in events cheered on by family and friends.
Children from the ages of four to 11 took part in a number of classic events including a sprint, sack race, egg and spoon race, beanbag race, javelin, distance run and relay.
Amongst these events were some more interesting races such as the dressing up race and caterpillar race. The crowd also got involved, with the pre-school race and over 21s race.
Headteacher Mr Mark French said: “We had perfect conditions for a great sports day up on Flushing Bowling Green, and the children were really excited to run in all the different events. There were lots of parents turning up, and watching, and there was a barbecue afterwards.”
