After 36 years working for the NHS, Lynne Fleming, a cancer services project pharmacist at Royal Cornwall Hospital has retired.

Lynne started her journey with the NHS back in 1978, when she joined South Meads Hospital in Bristol, before moving on to work at Guys and St Thomas Hospital. She joined Royal Cornwall Hospital in 1996, working in the pharmacy, as well as in clinical chemistry.

John Glinn, clinical services manager presented Lynne with gifts including a bouquet of flowers and said how much she would be missed within the department, adding : "Lynne has been instrumental in setting up one of our new pieces of software within cancer services. Her skills and enthusiasm will be sorely missed’.

Lynne said: "I will really miss working with the team, they are such a great bunch of people but I hope to still see them around."

Lynne has plenty to look forward to on her retirement, due to her numerous hobbies which include playing golf, painting and gardening.

"I have plenty of friends who are retired, so I’m looking forward to be joining the. But I must admit I am looking forward to putting my feet up and relaxing," she added.
