TEAMS are being sought to take part in a new 'It’s a Cornish Knockout competition' to help raise funds for Cornwall Air Ambulance.

Cornwall Air Ambulance is looking for teams of eight to ten people to compete across a variety of games and testing challenges, including an obstacle course, mountain climb, sumo wrestling, team skiing, roller rafts, a bungee run and the foam- and water-filled ‘Big Challenge' at the event at the charity’s annual Family Fun Day at Pencarrow House and GardensPencarrow Gardens near Bodmin on Sunday, August 17.

Event organiser Becky Wise said: “Get together with colleagues or friends and enter a team for this fun- and foam-filled event.

“It’s a great chance to have a fun day out and take part in some brilliant, quirky games just like you see on the TV shows – complete with giant sumo suits, foam and lots of water!”

Entry is free and the charity is asking each team to raise a minimum of £500 – just £50 per person for a team of ten.

Becky added: “Of course, if teams can raise even more, it will help us fly more lifesaving rescue missions – plus there’s a mystery prize for the team that raises the most!”

The team with the most points will be crowned 'Champions of Cornwall'. Points can be collected for winning games, but also for the best outfits, team name, and even the loudest spectators.

Becky added: “Each team member will be given a free entry pass for up to 5 people to the Family Fun Day so their friends and family can come along to cheer them on.

“Thanks to Sharp’s we’re even throwing in a free pint of ale to all team members – after they’ve finished the competition, of course.”
