Firefighters were called to Tregenna Place, St Ives this afternoon after a report of a child trapped in bars outside a shop.
A crew from St Ives used washing up liquid to free the four-year-old's arm after it became stuck in bars at the front of a shop.
A fire service spokesman said the youngster was released quickly unharmed.
