Police are appealing for witnesses after four women were assaulted outside a fast food take away, leaving one with four broken ribs.

The group of local women were verbally assaulted by three men outside the Vino fast food take away on Fore Street, Torpoint at around 1am on Monday, June 30.

Two of the women were punched in the face resulting in one woman, aged 21, suffering a nose bleed.

The other woman, aged 20, fell to the floor and hit her head on the road. She then suffered a 20 minute fit.

Whilst on the ground she has also punched and kicked which resulted in three or four broken ribs, as well as a sore neck and face.

The other two women in the group were struck to the head. An 18-year-old woman suffered whiplash, a stiff neck and a bump to the rear of her head, whilst the 19-year-old woman did not suffer any injuries.

Three men from Torpoint, aged 23, 26 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail until 30 July.
