Helston Community Hospital is opening its doors to the public for its annual summer fete today, (Wednesday, July 9) at 2pm.

Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Helston Community Hospital League of Friends, the fete which has been organised by the league will be opened by BBC Radio Cornwall’s Tiffany Truscot.

Stalls at the fete include cake sales; strawberries and cream; bric-a-brac; mini market; raffle and mini tombola; refreshments and entertainment to enjoy for all the family.

In the last 60 years, the Helston Community Hospital League of Friends has played an instrumental part in aiding the hospital to purchase equipment it needs to provide comfortable surroundings and rehabilitation to its patients, including an extension (the Jack Johns Suite) which can be used by the families of patients who are very sick, plants and bulbs in a sensory garden and a rhapsody hydro massage bath, amongst others.

All proceeds raised by the Friends of Helston Community Hospital go towards supporting patients.
