Police have confirmed that a man has died following a crash on the A30 yesterday.
A spokesman said that at approximately 3.50pm on Tuesday a Ford Luton Van driven by a 26-year-old man from the Bristol area was travelling eastbound along the A30 near Blisland in a single carriageway stretch of the road when it veered into the opposite carriageway "for unknown reasons".
The van collided with an HGV travelling westbound driven by a 57-year-old man also from the Bristol area.
The driver of the Luton Van was pronounced dead at the scene, with the driver of the HGV airlifted to Treliske hospital with non life threatening injuries.
A spokesman added: "Weather was dry at the time but there had been rain, road conditions were drying up and the visibility was good."
Police from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses to this incident and ask that anyone with information please contact them on 101 quoting police reference 20140708-0514.
