An 88-year-old man has died after the car he was a passenger in rolled several times on the A30 on Saturday.
Police and emergency services were called to the westbound carriageway around 5pm after a red Citroen Xsara Picasso rolled over several times and came to rest on its roof on the A30 near Indian Queens, Newquay
The driver, a 70-year-old woman, and an 88-year-old male passenger, sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to Derriford Hospital by the police helicopter and air ambulance.
The woman is receiving treatment for life changing injuries.
The westbound carriageway was closed for six-and-a-half hours for officers from the Force Serious Collisions Investigation Unit to conduct a forensic examination of the scene.
The A30 was also closed in both directions for a short time for the helicopters to land and safely evacuate the casualties.
Police from the Serious Collisions Investigations Unit are appealing for witnesses to this incident to contact them on 101, quoting log number 0650 of 21/06/14.
