Work is underway in Helston to create a fourth Patch & Acre Country Store, with the unveiling planned for the end of July.
The refurbishment is part of Cornwall Farmers’ £2.3 million growth strategy, which includes investment in new IT systems, staff training, store refit programme and the launch of Cornwall Farmers new country store, Patch & Acre.
As part of the work at the Helston branch, which is located at Water Ma Trout Industrial Estate, the farmer-owned co-operative has also announced plans to expand its floor space by reconfiguring the internal layout.
Simon Birch, chief executive of Cornwall Farmers, said: “Once Helston’s Patch & Acre facelift is complete, people will find increased product lines in all of our six core trading areas; farm, stable, pet, garden, country life and farmhouse. We’ll also be extending our opening hours from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.”
As well as refreshing the product lines, there will be the addition of a dedicated farm services desk. There will also be a greater area for equine goods, new brands in country clothing and footwear, a larger garden area and increased floor space for Cornwall Farmers’ Garden Machinery hub.
