Porthleven’s parish church is “almost cut off from humanity” according to one of the port’s councillors.

Dick Powell was complaining about the overgrowth that was engulfing St Bartholomew’s Church, adding that the entrance to Kittos Field car park had become “really congested” – a matter he raised at the last meeting of the council and with Cornwall councillor Andy Wallis.

He said he was concerned the weeds had become “quite an eyesore” to tourists getting their first sight of Porthleven.
