Clowns, mime artists, jazz bands and more will be back on the streets of Camborne this August as 'Fun Fridays' in Camborne returns "bigger than ever".

Throughout August performers of all shapes and sizes will invade the town centre as part of a series of free events with something for everyone.

Over the course of the month, clowns, mime artists, jazz bands, and a showcase performance from the Ka Dunk a Junk Band will entertain the visitors and shoppers alike.

Ross Wheeler from Hotch Potch Performance, the team behind Ka Dunk A Junk said: “It’s going to be great performing in Camborne, it’s right on our doorstep but I don’t think that the town centre will have ever seen anything like us before.”

Redruth based Ka Dunk A Junk has continent spanning CV which includes appearances at Glastonbury, Amiens Festival in France and the much lauded Hat Fair Festival in Winchester.

“Camborne is such a historic town with an industrial heritage. Our performances, with the handmade instruments are definitely inspired by the landscape Camborne has helped to shape.”

Fun Fridays are a collaboration between BID Camborne (the business improvement district), Camborne Chamber, Camborne Regeneration Forum and Cornwall Councillors Lewis and Blakeley, and run from every Friday from August 1 until August 29.

Mel Martin, BID Manager for BID Camborne said: “This year’s Fun Fridays aim to make you smile. They will mix art, comedy, music and theatre and provide a real point of difference during the busy summer month.

“Shoppers and visitors can also still take advantage of the value parking at the Rosewarne Car Park throughout August, so where better to come than Camborne this summer?”

All street performers should be in town from 11am until 3pm on their day, subject to weather. For a full line-up of performances visit www.cambornecando.co.uk.
