THE bells of St Gluvias Church will be ringing out on Monday, August 4, to mark the centenary of the British declaration of war at the start of World War One.
Starting at 7pm, the church’s tenor bell will toll 100 times, and then at 7.30pm there will be a half-hour peal of half-muffled bells.
Earlier, the church will be inviting people to go in and say a prayer and light a candle anytime between 10am and 11pm.
