Vegetables, flowers and fruit of all shapes and sizes were in abundance at Falmouth and District Allotments and Gardens Society's annual show where 46 members entered produce.

The society's chairman Robin Waddling praised all of the entrants, in particular the junior entrants, and thanked the show's judges Clarence Thomas, Ron Scamp, Grant Mather and Oliver Kingdon.

Town and county councillor and former mayor of Falmouth, Geoffrey Evans, who is also president of the society, opened the show, held at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, and presented the trophies and prizes. At the end of the afternoon, all the produced was auctioned.

Plot Holder of the Year for the most improved plot of an established member, Mandy McFarlane; the Julian's Cup for the most improved plot in the first year of membership, Dave and Jackie Angove; President's Cup for the best-kept plot on site A, Doreen Robbins; President's Cup for the best-kept plot on site B, Norman Sayle; President's Cup for the best-kept plot on site C, Andrew Spiller; Blue Flame Shield for the best top tray of vegetables, Tony McGarr; Vegetable Shield for the most points in the vegetable section, Dave Payne; Shed Cup for the best exhibit in the vegetable section, Paul Ridout; Saundry Cup for the most points for onions, shallots, garlic and leek classes, Dave Payne; Alison Waddling Cup for the best cherry tomatoes, Lyn Hedges; Bailey's Country Stores Cup for the most points in the fruit section, Nick Jemmett; Falmouth Garden Centre Cup for the best mixed berries, Dave Payne; The Hine Downing Cup for the most impressive vegetables and fruit, Roger Tackley; Effortless It/Diamond Groundworks Cup for the biggest cabbage, Paul Ridout; Top Vase for the best top vase of mixed flowers, Paul Rule; The Geoffrey Evans CC Cup for the best sweet pea, Robin Waddling; Flower Shield for the most points in the cut flowers section, Jackie Wagland; Flower Cup for the best exhibit in the cut flowers section, Jackie Angove; Pot Plant Cup for the most points in the pot plants section, Dave Payne; Moyle Cup for the best exhibit in the pot plants section, Sally Mather; Preserves Cup for the most points in the preserving classes, Carol Robson; Stones Bakery Cup for the most points in the baking classes, Jackie Wagland; Novice Cup for the most points in the novice section, Mike Robson; Junior Trophy for the most points in the junior section, Abbie Burley; Marlborough Cup for the best exhibit in the show, Dylan Statham; Show Champion Cup for the most points in the show, Jackie Wagland.

Mr Evans also presented medallions to all of the junior entrants - Abbie Burley, James Mason, Dylan Statham and Iona Statham.
