Despite rumours of a stabbing in Penryn on Friday night, police have received no reports of any assault.
The incident was believed to have happened outside the Kings Arms in Broad Street, and police say there was a fight very close by in Lower Market Street, but there were “no weapons seen.”
Police were called to reports of a large group of men fighting in Lower Market Street, near to Fish Cross, at around 6.30pm on August 8.
A barmaid in the pub said she had received a call from the girlfriend of the man rumoured to have been stabbed, but had told her she was not aware of anything happening.
A police spokesperson said: “There were various reports of a group of males fighting in the street. It was believed to be about five men by the chip shop.
“No assaults or crimes were reported, and no weapons were seen.”
