Breakfast was well and truly served courtesy of the Lizard Lifeboat fund raising team thanks to a big chow down for funds

The “Big Breakfast” was held in the village reading room at The Lizard, in aid of the Lizard Lifeboat Station.

Visitors were treated to a traditional Cornish or English breakfast, freshly cooked and served by the members of the fundraising committee from the lifeboat station. Just over £600 was raised in a little over four hours, which was hailed a magnificent amount.

Lyndsay Bray, a Lizard RNLI volunteer, said: “Huge thanks and appreciation go to everyone who came and supported the event.”

Two more fundraising days are planned during the summer holidays. The annual Lizard Lifeboat Day is taking place this Sunday (August 17) at Kilcobben Cove from noon.

Then the following Saturday, August 23, members of the Lizard Lifeboat and any other willing participants will attempt to abseil a total of 8,848 metres (the height of Mount Everest) in 25 metre sections down a steep cliff face near Kynance Cove.

For more information on the abseil event and how to get involved contact David Issitt on 07761-904060.
