The Old Ale House in Truro is launching a new menu to coincide with the Great Cornish Food Festival on September 27.

River Cottage and Skinners have teaming up to bring a new range of food, inspired by Cornish produce, to the establishment, and Skinners has carefully matched ales to suit the dishes which will be served in the renovated dining room.

Skinners founder Steve Skinner said:  “We’ve tried and tested the recipes for the past few months and are all impressed by the results. The menu includes mouth-watering, succulent meat which is cooked low and slow for hours.

“We can’t wait to offer the menu to our customers and really hope they’re as excited about the food as much as we are.”

The partnership initially formed last year when River Cottage sought a brewery to produce their own ale. With Skinners beliefs of using only the finest produce and traditional methods of brewing, they worked together to produce River Cottage EPA.

When Steve and the team at The Old Ale House wanted to revamp their existing menu, it was time for River Cottage to return the favour.

Gary Richmond, River Cottage chef tutor, said: “It’s great working with people who are equally passionate about supporting local and small producers. The new menus embrace our ‘slow’ philosophy of seasonal, local, organic and wild produce, the fish will be from sustainable sources, and the meat is from higher welfare Cornish farms.”

Elaine Skinner, director of Camellia Interiors which renovated the dining room, said: "Here at Camellia we always enjoy working on local projects. This renovation was close to both heart and home so we loved being involved and playing our part in the relaunch.”
