Falmouth Town Council has decided to move forward alone with the implementation of the neighbourhood plan for the restriction of multi-occupancy dwellings as adjoining councils have failed to show an interest.
Councillor decided they had waited long enough for others to join show an interest in the plan, which is needed for the smooth running of Article Four direction restricting multi-occupancy dwellings, secured by the council early this year.
Councillor Alan Jewell said: “Let’s get this thing moving now we’ve got to it.”
Councillor Candy Atherton said she thought Penryn Town Council might “come on board” at a later date, but for now Falmouth should move forward and let others join later if they decided to.
Councillor Atherton will now form an Engagement Group to push on with the plan, and will begin meeting with prospective project managers.
