Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman died in a motorbike crash at the weekend.

A motorbike was travelling westbound on the A38 near Liskeard at around 2.45pm on Saturday, September 13, when it collided with the crash barrier on the central reservation under the Moorswater flyover.

The pillion passenger, a 31-year-old woman from Plymouth, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The 37-year-old male rider of the red Honda CBR 600, also from Plymouth, suffered minor leg injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

The woman’s next of kin has been informed however formal identification has not yet taken place.

The road was closed for nine hours while officers carried out a thorough investigation of the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the motorcycle shortly before, is asked to call the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit at Bodmin on 101 quoting reference 535 of 13 September.
