The town will be hoping to recoup some costs from Falmouth University ahead of the next meeting of the ‘town and gown’ committee.
The council’s schools and university champion councillor Candy Atherton will ask the committee, which provides a platform for representatives of the town and the university to discuss issues, for “a contribution” towards the cost of cleaning up at the end of the academic year, when student houses around town are emptied.
She said: “At the end of last term we organised two collections a day for two to three weeks, and it was a great improvement. [on previous years].
“I’m hoping the university will be making a contribution towards that cost.”
