Truro Trend, the city’s annual fashion week, is returning to the high-street this October.

This six day event, running from October 6 – 11 is organised by Totally Truro BID and highlights the latest fashion must haves on the high-street of the city.

Charla Symons, event organiser, said, “Truro is the shopping destination of choice for many, so we have created this annual fashion week to celebrate this.”

“It is an opportunity for retailers and businesses alike to give something back to their loyal customers, and to attract new ones through special events and promotions”

“With an enviable range of independent stores open in all corners of the city - holding their own alongside better known high street labels, this strong and diverse mix is unique - Truro is not a clone of other towns.”

There are 26 businesses taking part in this year’s event, ranging from boutique independent retailers to the largest in the city.

A variety of in-store events will be taking place from the Monday. These include jewellery design workshops, a shoe hunt, Truro Trend Trunk Show, champagne and canapé evenings, style workshops, nail art and more.

The highlight of the week will be a fashion show in Truro Cathedral on the evening of Wednesday 8th October, from 7pm. For one night only, Truro Cathedral will be transformed into a fashionista’s dream, with a catwalk stretching the length of the nave.

12 businesses have come together to put on the show and as many more will be there on the night with stands showcasing anything from jewellery to beauty.

Gary Hackett, General Manager at Austin Reed said; ‘We are thrilled to be a part of the fashion show this year, it is fantastic to have such a variety of retailers coming together with a real sense of community spirit’ ‘The cathedral will be an awe-inspiring setting for the fashion show and a really great event for our customers to come along too.’ The evening will be showcasing women and men’s wear by Benetton, Country Casuals, Austin Reed, Viyella, Henri Lloyd, East, Jaeger, Marks and Spencer, Plum, Moss, The Vor Store and Hager Vor.
