Firefighters had to scale a ladder and climb in through a first floor window after a report of a fire alarm sounding at a Camborne house on Saturday.
Two appliances from Camborne Fire Station attended the semi-detached property after a call to a smoke alarm sounding just after 10pm.
Crews found signs of smoke in the property and used a triple extension ladder to gain access to the first floor kitchen, where they found a saucepan had been left on a cooker ring.
The saucepan was removed and the property was ventilated.
