Budock Water residents came out to support the village’s recent contribution to the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
The event, held in the village hall, offered teas, coffees, cake and book stalls as well as a bric-a-brac stand, all to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. There were also stalls from the Samaritans and Guide Dogs for the Blind as well as a range of craft stalls.
With coffee and teas on sale initially, from noon there was a chance to grab soup and a roll, served by the Budock Water playing fields committee members, to support the development of the playing field.
Sheila Gudzij, who helped run the event, said: “It was a fantastic morning. There was a really lovely atmosphere and, as always, it was very well attended.”
Sheila extended her thanks to all those who supported the event and helped raise a total of £1,265 for Macmillan Cancer Support with donations still coming in.
The majority of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning events will take place on Friday, September 26, between 10am and noon. These include fundraisers at Mawnan Smith’s Memorial Hall, Mabe Village Hall and Tregaer Flats, in Melvill Road, Falmouth. At Falmouth Pitch and Putt, there will be a fundraising coffee “morning” between 11am and 3.30pm.
