A horse that became trapped under a tractor and trailer after slipping down a bank near Ladock has been freed thanks to firefighters.
Firefighters with specialist line rescue and crash rescue equipment were called in after a report yesterday afternoon that the horse was trapped head first under the vehicles.
A total of 17 firefighters from Truro and Camborne and a vet were called out just after 4.30pm and once the horse was sedated crews used a piece of heavy lifting equipment called a Pall-Finger to lift the trailer off of part of the animal.
The tractor was driven forward to release the remaining trapped part of the horse.
A spokesman said that the young chestnut male was left in the care of the vet and his owners after the rescue.
It is believed that the horse did not sustain any serious injuries during the incident.
