Helston MP Andrew George’s sporting achievements were rewarded when he was presented with the trophy for the best bowler at the Leedstown Cricket Club 1st XI’s end of season award.
He topped the team’s bowling averages for the 28 wickets he took during the season.
The 55-year-old occasional first team captain has taken the crown on three occasions before.
Leedstown play in Cornwall Division III West where they had a “mixed” season.
Mr George said: “Younger players may rib me for being the oldest player in the team, but they can’t ignore the facts. It proves that dunkey drops still take wickets.”
