Two Culdrose based adventurers have got “moo-ving” on a challenge that will see them travel Europe dressed as cows – and in a car to match.

Benjamin Goodwin and his co-driver Daniel Pollard have left RNAS Culdrose to take part in the charity rally, dressed in cow style ‘onesies’.

They will make the trip in a 25 year old Volvo that they have decorated with fluffy cow print, bull horns on the bonnet and other items so that it looks like a bull.

The duo will travel in their “cow car” from St Austell to Pula, Croatia to raise money for Cornish charities.

Benjamin and Daniel will not be alone in their dairy themed challenge – a total of 370 people and 120 cars will take part in the 3,500 mile drive all aiming to raise money for a variety of charities. They plan to reach Pula and get back to St Austell within ten days.

Benjamin, who is a fuel bowser driver at the Helston based air station, said: “The ‘cow car’ is a 25 year old Volvo 440, which was donated to us by Trelawny Citroen Penzance. The car has been built and designed at Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose.

“We’ve had help from also every department possible at the air station. The cow horns are my favourite part of the car. We also plan to wear our fancy dress costumes for the entire trip, but we don't want to ‘milk’ it!”

The pair hope to raise money by way of public donations, for the MS Society, Cancer Research and the Cornwall Air Ambulance.
