A coffee morning and sale organised in support of Falmouth teenager Sasha Watson, who is battling a rare form of cancer, raised £490 recently.
The fundraiser was held at Falmouth Football Club and attracted a host of people who supplied a vast array of cakes and buns as well as donating books and DVDs for resale. The same people, along with many others, also took the opportunity to snap up a bargain or stop for a chat over a cuppa and a cake.
There was also a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses, including food vouchers from The Shed, Harbour Lights, Mings, Amanzi's, Roly's Fudge, Cavendish and De Wynns along with wine and whisky, pampering products and vouchers for hair and nails.
The money generated at the event has been donated to the Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation which aims to raise awareness of and money towards research into fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma.
