Sparks will be flying over Falmouth on bonfire night as Falmouth’s firefighters light up the sky with their annual fireworks display.

Falmouth Firefighters Social and Welfare Club and members of Falmouth Cricket Club have £7,000 of fireworks to ensure that this year’s event at Falmouth Cricket Ground off Trescobeas Road goes with a bang.

“This is guaranteed to be one of the largest displays in the county with a very explosive line up of fireworks; this is the largest and most expensive display we have put on,” said firefighter Giles Kent, the show organiser.

“Gates will open at 6pm for a 7pm start. I would encourage people to get there in good time as huge crowds arriving at 7pm make it very difficult for us to get everyone in the ground on time. Also there is no car parking at this event.”

As well as enjoying the pyrotechnic and musical display, visitors will be able to enjoy a hotdog, burger, hog roast or a doughnut amongst other refreshments, and there will also be a children’s fairground ride.

Entry is £4 for adults and £2 for children, who must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

The event will be raising funds for local charities and good causes, with a small proportion of the proceeds going to support the activities of the Social and Welfare Club, including the costs of the event.

Any community groups and charities wishing to apply for a share of the money raised at the display should write to the Social and Welfare Club at Falmouth Fire Station.
