On Sunday morning the anthem at sung matins was Lord I love thee by George Frederic Handel. At evensong the choir sang the canticles to Charles Stanford’s setting in B flat and the anthem God be in my head by Sir Henry Walford Davies, who was Master of the King’s Music in succession to Sir Edward Elgar.

The organ voluntary in the morning was J S Bach’s Fantasia in G and in the evening was the same composer’s arrangement of the third movement of the double violin concerto in A minor by Antonio Vivaldi.

The preacher for matins was the Rev Stephen Tudgey and for evensong was the Rev Roy Howe.
