A service to celebrate the life of Helston businessman Wesley Bowden collected £2,010 in his memory.
An estimated 500 people attended the service at Helston Methodist Church, with both the upstairs chapel and the hall downstairs completely full, with more people spreading into the foyer.
The collection was taken in aid of two charities chosen by Wesley’s family: Children’s Hospice South West (Little Harbour hospice) and Helston Methodist Church.
Funeral directors Pendles Funeral Services are keeping the collection open for another couple of weeks and anyone wanting to make a donation can pop into The Firs Funeral Home at St Johns.
Wesley’s widow Lynn thanked everybody for their kindness, and their thoughts towards Wesley and herself.
