Firefighters were called to Mitchell Hill in Truro yesterday evening after a report of a kitchen fire.
Both appliances from Truro and one appliance from Falmouth were mobilised just after 6pm, with crews finding a fire in the kitchen "well alight".
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a high pressure hosereel jet and the positive pressure fan was used to ventilate the premises.
A spokesman said: "One person was treated for the effects of smoke inhilation and oxygen was administered by Fire & Rescue personnel until the casualty was taken into the care of Westcountry Ambulance personnel."
The cause of the fire was accidental.
