A Helston man caught driving while more than twice the legal drink driving limit, has had his case adjourned after claiming he got behind the wheel due to an emergency situation.
Truro magistrates agreed to adjourn the case of Timothy Hawkins, aged 51, of Park-an-Harvey, so that he can make a special reasons case to avoid being disqualified.
Police say he had 76mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. More than twice the legal limit.
The offence was alleged to have taken place on November 4 in Clodgey Lane, Helston.
