A woman who fell from her dinghy on the Penryn River near Flushing was saved by a member of the public on Thursday evening.

Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was called by the coastguard at around 11.15 following reports of a person in the water off the boat yard at Little Falmouth on the Penryn River, and the Falmouth Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team was asked to help.

An RNLI spokesperson said: “It was soon confirmed that the casualty had been recovered from the water by a member of the public in his boat and had been taken back to the boat yard.

“The lifeboat crew provided additional casualty care until the arrival of the paramedic car and ambulance.

“The casualty had fallen from her dinghy while rowing ashore from her boat. A local boatman had become aware of her predicament and had gone to the scene in his own boat and had managed to have recovered the casualty before the emergency services had arrived.”
