A Truro woman has been thanked after being named as the highest fundraiser at Children’s Hospice South West’s Moonlight Memory Walk in Falmouth.

Susan Bunt raised a fantastic £559 in sponsorship for her Moonlight Memory Walk, which she took part in as part of Team Jo.

Susan was presented with a hamper of L’Oreal products as well as six free haircuts at Rococo Hair and Beauty in Truro as a prize.

Susan said “I would like to say thank you to Rococo for the prize hamper, it really is wonderful and also to Children's Hospice South West for being there for all the families in need. Along with 12 friends we walked in our group name of 'Team Jo' and I appreciate all those who supported us all.

"We entered in memory and honor of my daughter, Jo, who lost her battle to cancer in 2009 at the age of 17. She fought with gusto for two years and with the support of her family, friends, the doctors and nurses she made the most of her time, even though she was poorly.

"She went on three trips to London to see The Lion King, Stomp, an X-Factor Final and lastly a photo shoot with a Sun photographer, she also attained some GCSE's along with a Diploma in Photography. I am immensely proud of her achievements and her attitude to life.”

Over 350 ladies took part in the event in Falmouth and walked in memory and celebration of loved ones at the event in the autumn.

Sarah Stott from CHSW said: “Susan has raised an absolutely fantastic amount of money for the charity and we are so grateful to her for all of her hard work fundraising and to everyone who sponsored Susan. Donations like these really will make a difference to the care and support that our specialist care team at Little Harbour can offer the children and families they look after.”
