The second phase of work at the A38 Manadon junction in Plymouth will start on Tuesday, January 6.

From 8pm the westbound entry slip road at the Manadon junction will be completely closed until the scheme is completed at the end of March.

Work will also continue on the eastbound entry slip road until the middle of February and two overnight closures will be needed between 8pm and 6am on Wednesday, January 7 and Friday, January 9.

All other work on the eastbound entry slip road will be carried out during normal working hours with speed restrictions for narrow lanes and some lane closures on slip road.

The scheme, part of the Government’s national Pinch Point Programme to invest in the country’s road infrastructure, will involve the extension of existing sliproads onto the A38.

During westbound closures, traffic planning to join the A38 will be diverted north along Tavistock Road, then via Meavy Way, along Crownhill Road to join the A38 at St Budeaux.

However road users traveling from the city centre may wish to take alternative routes and traffic from the east of Plymouth may wish to use the Forder Valley junction.

During eastbound overnight closures, traffic joining the A38 at Manadon will be diverted north to Tavistock Road, east along Fort Austin Avenue and Forder Valley Road, joining the A38 at Marsh Mills.
