The inshore lifeboat arrived on scene off Porthmellin Head at aroun 11.40am, and having confirmed the position of the divers they were recovered as they surfaced.

An RNLI spokesperson said: "Once all the divers and their equipment had been recovered they were transferred back to the dive boat.

A towline was then passed to the boat and it was towed back to Falmouth where it was dropped off at the Grove Place Dinghy Park at 1.30pm."

They added: "As soon as the dive boat developed a mechanical problem, the skipper contacted the coastguard to advise them of the situation and then dropped the boats anchor. The skipper kept the coastguard updated on the situation and once the inshore lifeboat arrived on scene was able to direct to the divers."
